I have a class consisting of university lecturers coming to our school to learn Business English. Their tuition fees have already been covered by the university and they can attend the class for free. But one thing that I already noticed from past experiences: students learning for free usually are the laziest. So the same thing occurs again in this particular class; the attendance is extremely poor.
As a teacher, the ambience really changed my motivation to teach as well because we have prepared our lesson plans complete with group activities, but since only one student showed up we had to revert back to the old “interview” sessions. It really is a demotivating factor. Any comment?
